Shirley’s fun-filled weekend with friends
31st December 2021
During these challenging times, we recognise how important it is that the people we support still get to have fun and go on holiday. Shirley, who we support at her home in Norfolk, recently enjoyed a long overdue holiday in Pakefield.
She enjoyed the live entertainment at the hotel every night, walks by the sea and eating out at different restaurants.
I loved every minute of it and I’m saving so I can go again next year. I had such a lovely time! I love FitzRoy.
Shirley’s good friend Pam was also on holiday at the same time, so they all were able to meet up and socialise over the weekend. Pam and Shirley have been friends for years, so it’s great for them to get a chance to meet and catch up.
We have been supporting Shirley to live in her own home for the last 15 years. Without FitzRoy she would be isolated and alone, but with continued support from her support worker Kim and FitzRoy’s Norfolk Support At Home team she is now supported to achieve her goals, like this one.
Ginny, who manages the Norfolk Support at Home team said: “We are lucky to have so many staff like Kim who go above and beyond for the people we support. Without FitzRoy, Shirley wouldn’t have been able to experience this holiday. Thank you to the team who made it happen for Shirley.”
All of our services have been so restricted but they have adapted to the pandemic very well and to get to see Shirley achieve this goal is amazing. The people we support are an inspiration to us.
