Two rooms in lovely care home for people with learning disabilities
17th October 2022
We have two bright and quiet rooms available in our wonderful six bedroom registered care home in Uckfield, East Sussex.
We have two rooms available for someone with learning disabilities in our warm, bright and fully accessible care home. The other four people who live in the home are aged between late 20s to 60s, most communicate non-verbally, except Audrey who moved in during lockdown. She is very chatty and she loves socialising with all her new housemates and getting involved with everything going on.
We offer a flexible environment where every day is different. We do everything we can to meet the differing needs of everyone we support at Linden Cottage, with staff on hand 24 hours a day. We specialise in supporting people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, epilepsy, sensory impairments, physical disabilities and other complex needs.
What you can expect if you choose a FitzRoy home
This lovely home has six bedrooms, two fully accessible bathrooms and two shower rooms, a large garden where we have made the most of our space with a cinema room and a tea room. Downstairs is largely open plan, adding to the social feeling of the home.
An extension is also currently being built at Linden Cottage which will be completed in December, which will give residents a new large communal space and a sensory room.
The first bedroom is on the ground floor, and the second is on the first floor with a garden view which can be accessed by a fully accessible lift.
Linden Cottage has a 24 hour staffing team who offer person centred support for people with a range of complex needs. Our focus will be on identifying your needs and wishes and what you would find fulfilling, we have an experienced staff team who could be offering support with any of the following and more:
- Picking out the furnishings and decoration for your new bedroom
- Choosing and preparing your own meals
- Keeping your home the way you want it
- Manging your health needs
- Getting out and about in the local community
- Meeting new people and making friends
If you think you might be interested in moving in, we would love to have you over for lunch or dinner, so you can meet us all and see our home to make sure it is right for you.
