Damian Hinds, local MP sees FitzRoy staff in action
Damian Hinds, MP for East Hampshire, took time out of his busy schedule to visit a local service for people with learning disabilities. The home in Liss, is run by FitzRoy, a Petersfield-based charity supporting people with a wide range of disabilities and autism.
Damian commented: “It was a privilege to visit the Whitegates View houses in Liss recently and see the work being done by FitzRoy, a charity dedicated to transforming lives for people with learning disabilities. With access to sports, arts and crafts as well as IT-enabled communication and learning support, FitzRoy staff help people develop skills and live as independently as possible. We’re certainly very fortunate to have such a brilliant organisation locally and to have FitzRoy’s head office in Petersfield.”

He saw the expertise and skill required by FitzRoy support staff, as they facilitate people with a wide range of needs to live fulfilling lives. It is helpful for our MPs to understand the complexity of a support worker’s role and how hard they work to transform lives.
