The Good Intent hosts charity music day in aid of FitzRoy

The Good Intent in Petersfield, Hampshire, organised a day packed full of live music featuring seven bands who rocked for FitzRoy for over eight hours, raising a brilliant £571.37!

Daniel and Lou Hornby, Landlord and Lady, told us how the day went.

We chose FitzRoy to benefit from our event because the charity is local to us and very close to some of our staff’s hearts too, so it was a great fit. We also think that supporting a local charity is important as we believe in community, which to us means being a part of it and giving back.

Lots of time went into planning the day which paid off as it went amazingly well. All of our staff were just incredible and got involved with collecting an entry fee on the door, selling raffle tickets, and just generally making sure everything ran as smoothly as it did. The bands were also fab and all got behind the charity, giving their time for free. There was a real sense of the community coming together to do good which is what we’re all about. We are thrilled that our efforts raised over £500 for such great cause.

Jim Apted, Community Fundraising Coordinator at FitzRoy, added;

We can’t thank The Good Intent in Petersfield enough for all the hard work they put in to organise an all-day event. The money they have raised will really make a difference to people with learning disabilities and autism in their local community.
