Job Description

FitzRoy is an ambitious and growing national charity supporting people with disabilities. We are looking to recruit a full time, confident Payroll Officer to join our busy payroll team who run a full in-house payroll for around 1,300 employees.

Joining the Finance Team, responsibilities will include:

  • Processing and administering the payroll for all FitzRoy employees using the Midland Heart iTrent system,
  • Ensuring timely and accurate payment of NI and PAYE,
  • Assisting with the administration of pensions, responding to payroll queries and contributing to the maintenance and development of the system,
  • Resolving any issues in collaboration with other departments.

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant experience of processing payroll for over 500 employees in a comparable organisation,
  • Existing knowledge of payroll issues, PAYE and NI rules as well as pensions (auto-enrolment and group schemes),
  • A good level of IT literacy including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) is essential,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • An ability to interpret financial information to others & an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
