Autism Practitioners – March
FitzRoy, a national charity, is looking for Male Autism Practitioners to join their team in March to provide care & support for a young gentleman in his own bungalow.
You will be delivering high quality support to assist him in everyday living and to encourage his independence. You will help him to engage with his chosen activities in the community, achieving his goals, wishes, and aspirations through encouragement, prompting, praise and empathy.
Transporting and supporting him in the community is a core element of the role and, therefore, a manual driving licence is essential.
Everyday will be different; you could be at the beach, having a picnic (whatever the weather!), at a football match, assisting with a swimming session, have a pub lunch or providing support and guidance in the home. Your day may be challenging but this will be greatly outweighed by the enormous satisfaction that is gained from making a difference to someone’s life. In this role you require confidence, patience and a calm, supportive nature.
- We have full and part time positions available and typical shift patterns are 7am-2.30pm & 2pm-9.30m with weekly sleep-ins (£45 one off payment)
You don’t need experience in care, nor do we require qualifications - we will invest in your development and training to become an exceptional Autism Practitioner. We are keen to find people who share our values:
- We See the Person –encourage choice & respect the opinions, beliefs & dignity of others. Treat people as equals, be thoughtful, discreet & maintain confidentiality
- We are creative- encourage & support everyone to reach their goals, think of solutions to problems & actively involve people in every aspect of their lives
- We are brave- Be positive, embrace new ideas, experiences & challenges. Be genuine, honest & a voice for others.
Are these values important to you? If yes, read on!
Benefits? In addition to £8.97ph, FitzRoy offer some fantastic perks which include: 28 days holiday, holiday purchase scheme, annual leave rising with service, enhanced overtime, pension, DBS, cycle to work, enhanced parental leave, life insurance & access to a variety of online discounts with major retailers.
