About the run
Help us celebrate 60 years of transforming lives for adults with learning disabilities by taking part in the South’s biggest and best running event – the Great South Run.
With the Great South 5K, the Junior Mini Great South Run and the famous 10-mile race, there’s something to suit everyone. Whether you’re running for the very first time, or looking for a route like no other, join us and make every mile matter to help adults with learning disabilities to live the life they choose.
This fast and flat 10 mile course starts and finishes on Clarence Esplanade in Southsea, and takes you through Old Portsmouth before entering the Historic Dockyard.
After exiting the Dockyard you reach the halfway point on Winston Churchill Avenue, before making your way back towards Southsea Common, where you’ll complete the final two miles on the scenic seafront.
The course is steeped in history dating as far back as 1212 and features charity cheering points, boost zones, bands on the run and unrivalled support from local residents and spectators.
