Coronavirus Crisis Appeal
It is heart-warming to see communities across the nation pulling together in this time of crisis, and we are incredibly proud of all our staff for doing everything they can to ensure the people we support are receiving the best possible care.
But we are now calling on you, our kind supporters, to help ensure these efforts can continue.
Anyone who knows FitzRoy, will already be aware of how incredible our support workers are.
People like Sam, James and Emily in Norfolk who went into self-isolation with Charlotte who they support, when she presented with potential virus symptoms.
Sam told us “When we were in isolation her parents couldn’t do enough to help, they called to check in on us and dropped off groceries to the doorstep, the saddest part was when Charlotte saw them coming and couldn’t understand why they couldn’t come in.
Luckily after three days, we were able to lift the self-isolation after advice from 111, when it became clear that Charlotte didn’t have the virus.
During this crisis, technology can empower people who would otherwise be vulnerable to loss of independence and increased social isolation.
It can enable the people we support to stay in contact with their friends and family and feel connected to their communities. This is just one of the many ways that your donations can allow us to go the extra mile.
But it’s not just about staying connected to family. Members of our teams have also been delivering art supplies and setting up virtual Zumba classes and online quiz nights to help protect people’s emotional and physical well-being at a time when they need it most.
Any amount you are able to donate will allow us to support our staff in their continued efforts to go above and beyond for the vulnerable people in our communities. We can’t do it without them and they can’t do it without you.
