FitzRoy volunteers make an enormous difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities. Their time, skills and enthusiasm bring so much to the people we support and really do change lives for the better. Becoming a volunteer brings huge personal rewards!
What our volunteers say
"To anyone who is thinking about volunteering with people with learning disabilities, I’d say just do it! You learn a lot about yourself and other people, and it’s lots of fun."
Heather, Volunteer at a Day and Community Service
"Volunteering has helped me regain my confidence and given me a greater understanding of people with learning disabilities. I want to carry on developing my skills by working as a volunteer here, and continue to gain a better understanding of the people I support."
Bernie, Volunteer at a Day and Community Service
How we support you
FitzRoy’s volunteer scheme makes sure that people are well-matched to the volunteer roles they choose, and are given plenty of support right from the very beginning. We will give you a good induction and plenty of support to make sure that you are comfortable with your role. We will also spend time helping you to understand how our values – We See the Person, We are Brave, We are Creative – shape the way we work.
