Support for families

As a parent or family member of someone with a learning disability, you may be wondering what opportunities there are for your child as they move into adult life. It can be a difficult time for any parent, but FitzRoy are here to help.

We have 50 years experience of supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the lives they choose, whether that means living independently, volunteering, gaining employment or simply spending time with their friends. The best interests of the people we support remain at the heart of everything we do. Their lives do not stand still, so neither does the support we offer them.

Our skilled staff work with a wide variety of people with a range of needs; from those requiring only a few hours support each week, to those with very complex needs who require 24 hour care.

We offer a range of support services, both at home and within the community. These include:

  • Support in the home, tailored to the needs of the individual
  • Support in the community – day and community support
  • Out of home and leisure activities
  • Supported volunteering
  • Confidence building
  • Life skills
  • Support at college
  • New opportunities to meet friends

We provide the highest quality of care, offering additional support within the community so people can get involved in the activities that interest them. We make it our priority to go the extra mile to make people’s lives more interesting, rewarding and enjoyable. As a charity, we work hard to fundraise for these extras so we can add value to the lives of the people we support.
