Paul’s Story
Paul has been supported by staff to volunteer in his community since 1997. He volunteers for the local Council’s Park Services, helping to maintain nearby Vicarage Gardens. Julia, Paul’s support worker, says: “Paul really looks forward to his volunteer days, and asks if we are going as soon as I arrive at work. At other times in the week he can be quite subdued, but once he starts work at the garden, he is totally transformed. He becomes chatty and gets totally engrossed in the work he is doing.”
