Sometimes Support at Home is called home care, floating support, domiciliary care or community support.
But what it provides is the same – support you want, when you want it, in your own home.
You know what support you need to be able to live your life as you want to.You might just need support for a couple of hours a week with a specific task, such as budgeting, working out a meal plan or shopping, help to access the community or get to college, for example.
You may need one or two days per week, a few hours a day or even full time support.
Support at Home is flexible; a support worker comes to you, when you need it, to support you with areas of your life where you want it.
hen you choose to work with FitzRoy, we will visit you to talk about the support you need and how we can help.
We will take time to get to know you – what you like and don’t like, and how you want to live your life.
We will make a plan with you and agree:
- When we will provide support and how long for (such as days of the week, times of day)
- Who will provide the care and support to you (we may already have staff working in your area, or we may even need to recruit a new team member especially to support you).
Who will support you is really important - it’s your home, you need to be comfortable and feel safe. We will give you as much choice as possible. We will also meet any other important people who support you so we are clear about expectations and our role as part of your wider team.
FitzRoy's Support at Home team currently support individuals in this area and have the capacity to support more people.
